A Little About Me: My name’s Doni, and I like to believe I have a healthy attachment to coffee and Netflix. I’m 24 with a B.A. in English. I’m currently in grad school to get a Masters in English with a concentration in creative writing. After I graduate in May I’d love to enter the writing world professionally either through teaching, editing, or publishing. Writing is something I care deeply about, and I want to be a part of that community so I can continue my growth.

I also have a flash fiction piece published in the Indiana Voice Journal that you can check out here, if you’d like!

A Little About this Blog: This place is really just a combination of the hobbies and things that I love with a heavy emphasis on pop culture and writing. I’m always happy to accept content requests on topics you’d like to read. Just send me a shout out by commenting or contacting me through Twitter, Instagram, or email at doni.york92@gmail.com.

The Schedule:

Sunday: Sunday Writing Session – Where I’ll discuss writing tips, talk about my current projects, and share general thoughts on professional writing.

Wednesday: Pop Culture Wednesday – Where I’ll post about anything pop culture related. This could be over a genre, movies, television, you name it.

1st Friday of Every Month – Adventures in Art. This is when I’ll post a piece of my artwork whether it’s photography, a painting, craft, or a short prose.

  1. I’ve also just nominated you for a Liebster Award lol. Hadn’t seen you had already been nominated and there is no pressure, but thought I’d let you know 🙂

    1. I’m not really interested in the Liebster Award, but I really appreciate the nomination; it means a lot to me. Thank you so much! 🙂

        1. All kinds. haha For literature I have a soft spot for stories written in the192o’s era and I find that time in history pretty interesting too which is probably why. I also like anything in the 18th/19th century. What about you?

          1. The Roarin’ 20s were great! I love the Great Gatsby (not sure when it was written but I think it’s set in the 20s). I’m a fan of political history in the 19th and 20th century and how communism spread so quickly and stuff.

          2. I recently took a liking to the French Revolution era lol idk why. But I love really any types of writing because it’s like a window to the past. Like time capsules. Love those things!

            1. I know what you mean! I feel like I can get into any story, but I definitely have my favorites that I get drawn too. And Gatsby is a great book, I’ve been thinking about re-reading it.

  2. I sincerely enjoyed reading some of your posts, especially “Writing Hours”, in which I totally recognized myself.
It is also great that you love the roaring ’20s, I love the “Jazz Age”, Fitzgerald is one of my favourite authors absolutely.
I just disagree on your addiction to coffe, but that’s just because I have one on tea.

    1. Iced tea yes, warm tea…not so much. haha I’m so glad you like the blog, that always means a lot to me! And yes Fitzgerald is great. I actually have a huge book from Barnes and Noble filled with his short stories and a few novels.

    1. I have to say, I’m pretty jealous of that. I would love to write on him, but maybe one day. haha Glad you like the blog, it means a lot! 🙂
